My friends received Green cards in 2007. They live abroad, but make regular trips tho the Us to visit family and maintain their GC.

Unfortunaltely, they recently misplaced their green cards. They are planning a trip to the US this month, for which they have received travel letters from the US Embassy abroad.

Would anyone know what the process is afterwords? We know they have to file I-90s to replace their lost GC. Does this have to be done at the port of entry? Or is it done at a local office on reaching their final US destination?

Also, will they be called for a biometric appointment locally or can that be done at a Port of Entry. Can the biometric be done at a location abroad?

If anyone has any info on this, it'd be truly appreciated.

Hi,

Following are my USA stay details on L1 and H1-B visa:-

1) Stayed in USA from 01-SEP-2003 till 25-JAN-2004 on L1 visa(expired now).
2) Stayed in India from 26-JAN-2004 till 01-NOV-2004.
3) Stayed in USA from 02-NOV-2004 till date on new H1-B visa(still valid).

I read somewhere that 6 year period for H1 also counts L1 stay. Can someone please suggest, what should be my H1's final expiry date based on above details? Will that L1 stay be counted, even though I went back to India and came on a new H1-B visa?

Candidates already in the US may, if they are on a non-immigrant visa (such as a B1/B2 visit visa), be able to apply to the BCIS for adjustment (if changing to immigrant) or change (if changing to other non-immigrant) of status while remaining in the US. Hi,

Can we apply for a new EAD/AP after they expire?

If so, what is the difference b/w applying for an extension vs. a new one in terms of fees/documents/photos/etc.?

The reason being I already spent $1000 for EAD/AP last yr. but never used it, and now I have bear all H1 (extension) expenses as well as employer sucked all my blood & is after my limbs after 8 years of slavery. On top of that has stopped paying salary since April.

Hence I am trying to cut corners whenever wherever possible. Any responses or help greatly appreciated.

We filed for our 2nd AP on July 2nd. They received it on 8th and mine was approved on 22nd. Got my AP yesterday. No idea what happened to my spouse's. I got that RN from the back of the check and called USCIS. I entered the 10 digit RN and it said not enough numbers entered?? So i called again and said no RN and i got a cust service rep. I gave her the RN and she said they received it on 8th and is still processing it. She said it doesn't matter whether we filed together and asked us to wait 6 months.

Is this normal? I just hope the other AP is not lost.

Also since there is no expiry date on the AP, is it to be taken as its valid only for 1 year from the date of issue? We never had to use our 1st AP.
