has anybody else had the problem where their D70 just stops responding?
mine just suddenly stopped responding.
all i see is the CF light flashing and thats about it.
if i press the menu button the menu pops up for less than a second and disappears again.
tried resetting the camera, changing battery, CF card.
all sorts of fun stuff. has anybody encountered such behaviour?

Hello Friends
My husband was an employee of a desi company and they had withheld part of his salary, he filed a complaint at the DOL and got the pending money back.. that was 4 years back.. now he is trying to change his job and the new employer wants to do his background check..
what will show up in his background check? will the case against his employer affect him? we are really worried about this.

I dont know if people would be interested in discussing the implications of all EB categories turning current. Some of the points to discuss would be:
1) Processing times for I-485
2) Effects on future GC applications.

Definitely, we have to meet with all the senators.
I was hoping on getting some of the new senators to side with us assuming they have independent views and maybe we can get their support more easily.......

This reporter has got it right. The U.S. is obsessed with importing poverty from poor non-assimilated immigrants (mostly illegal) and shunning high-skilled immigrants who assimilate and increase the country's living standards. Hello, My parents on B1 visa just entered the US a few days ago. This is their 2nd visit. I extended their stay beyond the given 6 months when they came last time. My mother got a 6 months term on her I-94 this time which is ok but my dad was granted only 60 days of entry and he said the immigration officer has marked in Black marker pen saying "No Extention" on his I-94 card. The justification they gave was that they were unable to find his previous extension, but if they were unable to find his extension, how could they even permit his entry in the first place since overstaying without extension would be illegal.
My question is with "No extionsion" marked in writing on my father's I-94, could I apply for his extension beyond the granted 60 days?
Please answer this question so that I can take the needed action.

Hi All,
One of my friend has been working for a desi company for 6 months and now is moving to another company.
In the desi company offer letter there is no information regarding leave encashment and it says that he is eligible for one day leave per month.
There is no statement regarding leave encashment policy in the offer letter
So if he resigns now will he get any leave encashment or is there any virginia state laws governing the leave encashment

1) Stayed in USA from 01-SEP-2003 till 25-JAN-2004 on L1 visa(expired now).
2) Stayed in India from 26-JAN-2004 till 01-NOV-2004.
3) Stayed in USA from 02-NOV-2004 till date on new H1-B visa(still valid).
I read somewhere that 6 year period for H1 also counts L1 stay. Can someone please suggest, what should be my H1's final expiry date based on above details? Will that L1 stay be counted, even though I went back to India and came on a new H1-B visa?

I had a quick Q:
a.) DO you need latest paystubs for filing for 485.
Suppose, i am working for company A and company B has filed for my GC, then how can this be provided.
b.) Even if i am working for company A, do i still need pay stubs or will a letter stating that "this job is available for the immigrant" suffice.

folks, with a lot of effort I got to know the case number of my AEC filed during mid 2001 ( P2002-XXXXX ) (EB3 RIR)
my company did not respond to the NOF due to lack of hiring and layoff's in the company... and then their policy is not to share the case number with the employee...
a standard answer that 'the application will be denied and has been denied' is being given by the HR.
what all can I try to get the status of this application... I have tried to email info@dallas BEC address and they wanted more info and currently awaiting their reply..
what would be the result of such an application? when NOF has not been responded to...
if a case has been denied..will there not be any paperwork from the SWA that it has been denied? or can this case get remanded and go as a TR case (non RIR)?
if anybody has faced something similar let me know... thanks!

Supposed my I-485 was approved, am I legally required to go to USCIS, surrender my I-94 card and get a I-551 stamp? Could I just wait for GC to come in the mail?
