I missed the july fiasco by 15 days. Atleast if we get the administrative fix to apply atleast 485. That would help us a lot, after labor if we are allowed to apply for 485 within a specific timeframe it would be nice.

Receipt date is not the date when the application reaches the service center. It is infact the date when your application is entered into their internal system which could be several days after the application has reached the service center.
And all application they enter into the system.. then give us a Receipt Date Right ... from that time we can apply for EAD / AP (will take time again)

Application mailed date is 03/03/2005 and USCIS Rcvd Date is 04/03/2001.
Looks like you learned in your Ph.d to go backwards in life, Moran.Keep going back and reach 1990, you will get your GC soon. Saat me leke ja tumara sunnysurya ko bi (don't forget to buy bangles for both of you):D:D

It does not make a difference to America, if a few hundred thousand foreign workers get their GCs today or 10 years later. The people America would really be concerned about are outstanding researchers, but then these people fall in the EB1 category which is always current and so they have no cause for complaint. The other category that the US is concerned about is cheap and illegal labor, but that is not related to GCs. So in short, there is nothing about the Eb2/Eb3 GC backlog that America needs to worry about.
The delay causes anxiety & frustration only for us applicants. So the impact is only on us.
America is not bothered about losing outstanding researchers.

As you said that you applied for H1 extn in 2009 and got extended only for 1 yr instead of 3 yrs [as your I-140 was approved], this means that this yr if suppose you have to apply for H1 extn again that means again the employer has to pay around 4000$ for extn and your have to pay again around 500$ for H4 extn correct ?

Why not do a flower campaign or the like, that we did last time? Clearly that worked and the phone campaign doesnt "have the appearance" of working. I am not saying it is not working, it just isint having the same media impact as last time. It doesnt have to be the flower campaign again, heck we can do a fruit basket deal this time.
Our message should be "Please stop punishing people that came here the right way, in order to help the people that did not". We are not against undocumented workers getting amnesty, we just dont want their issues to hold up everyone else's.
There are reasons we MUST NOT do anything like that. Lobbying works on the long run. These days lawmmakers are more informed about the situation and it is just a matter of time.
Do not lose hope - we will succeed.
Please convince your friends and coworkers to make phone calls and visits to law makers offices.

My AP was filed on July 2nd along with 485 but receipt shows Oct 1st, any how received AP approved notice on Oct 23rd to my communication address but the USCIS online status was not updated till now with the Approval statement but I have the approved document, when I called the customer service they said it will take 30 to 60 day to get updated.
Any how there is a printing mistake of my Name I have send back my AP original again to USCIS to get it corrected, it was there mistake and almost 40 days now I have not got any response on my AP till now.
Please comment if any one with such situation.

The whole thing is very confusing sir. Just like the bible, for which different groups come up with different interpretations, we are being confronted with many intrepretations for this bill. Lets look at what the IV has to provide in the bill summary they have posted. Most probably that is a version prepared by the "patton-boggs" law firm.
