CIR is going to be back for sure no doubt about it and when it comes back it is going to be the same bill. Harrry Reid is just creating a drama so that he can reduce the number of amendments introduced by the republicans. There are currently more than 30 to 40 amendments remaining, with this drama harry reid is trying to reduce the amendments to about 5 or 6 more amendments.
We should try something like applying for 485 without priority date but even the cantwell cornyn amendment does not have this provision
There is a SLIM chance that CIR might come back this year, but if this CIR is taken again with its current provision for the EB Category and H1B in it, it is very bad for many of us.
Plan B, I think must be, trying to insert or get some sort of SMALL provision that would alleviate the problem for vast majority of us, into some appropriation bill (Read some where there will be 11 appropriation bill taken up this summer) as the appropriation bill must have to pass for the government to function.
I would either try for filing AOS while visa numbers are not available with an extra fee of $1000… or recapture of unused visas from previous years and use them once without country limit might help. As long as we are not asking for some thing new or more, but like recapture, change of process to ease the current problem, etc might have a SMALL chance.

if my previous company revoke my visa after the new copmany filed for the transfer will this be a reason for ins to deny my h1b transfer?
Once you get a receipt for your H1 transfer application you can start working for the new employer. From that point onwards your H1 application is linked to your new employer and no longer dependent on your old employer. I would suggest follow up with USCIS regarding your case.

But honestly, what are the chances for this bill to succeed this year (before election)?

What about time you already spent on H1? With NEW H1 you do not get your time back Also You do not need approval to start working with new employer. There are many differences between new and transfer.
You are always free to call it the way you want and I perfectly understand the differences between the very first H1 and the next ones you may get.

The Cantwell amendment and Lieberman amendment will fail to pass the vote. It doesnt matter whether its ordered to lie on table or whether its ordered to take a nap on the table or have some lemonade on the table. And it doesnt matter what any of those "Motion to... " means.
Both of those amendments, if debated, will fail. It will take 10 seconds for Bernie Sanders, Ted Kennedy and Dick Durbin to scream on top of their lungs and kill it. And the reason is very simple. There is a massive H1B exemption ON TOP OF 180,000 QUOTA. People who have been so successful this year so far in restricting H1 and employment based GCs are not going to miss that nice little H1 exemption at the bottom of both these amendments. So stop scratching your heads over what the "lying on table" means, because whatever is lying on table is unpassable if it somehow awakes from the table and starts dancing in the well of the senate floor.

I missed it, not aware of it, not sure why. I am glad to see this chapter grow. There was a time where we were searching for folks with torchlights. Thanks to Chintu, walking_dude, cagedcactus, bestin and all others who are now making this happen.
I have a very close friend in Michigan, and asked him to join, but he talks about all hardships, about his HR manager, about his company, about his lawyer, about everything except IV stuff. I am sure there are many more people here doing the same thing. We have to motivate folks to come forward. We cannot afford to have people who are inactive.

Just like IRS will be mailing checks to provide stimulus to the economy, IV bills need the stimulus of your checks to move forward.Now that Stimulus checks are in the mail, it's time for the community to loosen the purse strings and contribute to something that will benefit you immensely.
Let's not let this historic opportunity go waste over a sum of $50 or $100, something many of us spent just to get to the nearest available USCIS recognized doctor for our AOS medical tests. If these bills pass the savings are much greater - EAD/AP/DL renewal fees, FP fees, AC21 fees (whenever you change the job) etc. Now that the new Medical form has been posted - with additional TB testing - old tests may be considered invalid after a period of time ( I'm not saying they'll be, but knowing USCIS anything's possible). Not to mention job opportunities lost due to a missing plastic card - every one of us, EAD users, has at least one experience, where we couldn't apply or were denied opportunities for not having GC.
Considering the cost vs. benefits ratio, and the low risks unvolved (you aren't investing whole of your 401(k) here), let's not act 'pennywise and pound foolish'. Lets not fall victim to self-defeatist pessimism and thriftiness. If ,God forbid, the bills don't pass you are losing just 50 bucks, 100 bucks... something you'd have lost when the mail-in rebate check got lost in mail (or not got posted at all!). It's not like any of us will be losing our retirement savings or all our stocks. I'm sure no one will foreclose their homes because of it :-)

Just reporting what I saw on CNN. During the Sen. McCain interview with Judy Judy Woodruff & Richard Stengel, Richard asked something like - what about the green cards for the highly skilled immigrants educated by American Universities. To this Sen. McCain replied implying - they should be given green cards sooner, I am not sure if they could be given automatic green cards but the process should be faster.....
He said it not exactly in these words but implying something to that effect. They were suppose to ask Sen. Obama the exact same questions. Did anyone see Sen. Obama's answer to the question about green card for high skilled immigrants from Richard Stengel? Just curious....
I found this on shusterman's regarding obama's views on immigration. Looks like he is all for family based immigration but no mention about employment based.

I'm not sure about the assumption that IEEE/US is anti-immigration group. They have lobbied for the PACE act in Senate and STEM act in the house: http://www.ieeeusa.org/policy/issues/innovation/index.asp

An infopass IIO has no way to find out from the CLAIMS3 system whether the AC21 actually reached your file. I have a hunch that since they included your new G-28 your AC21 docs are also included in your file.
Do not worry... just maybe a few anxious days and you will be all set:)
I got some more information from InfoPass
They have received G-28 and i saw my present attorney address which is good. Because my present attorney will receive the denial notice.
2nd, The AC21 letter never reached them..... Somehow blackhole swallowed it....
Still waiting on Denial notice.
Do not worry... just maybe a few anxious days and you will be all set:)

Not really. Every has the freedom to chose what they like or not. Exactly because of these rude attitude of Hindi People I never speak hindi.
I'm a South Indian and I have never had issues with Hindi or Hindi-speaking people. In fact, many of my friends are Hindi-speaking and I'm quite well-versed with the language as well (why not?). You cannot make a blanket statement saying that everyone speaking a particular language is rude or has bad attitude. Just goes to show one's ignorance.
Just look around and see what's keeping this country together? You can move from NY to LA without having to think twice. Try doing that back home ;)
